Your collection day depends on the ward you live in.

Which bin to put out
We collect your black bin (general waste) one week and your blue bin (recycling) the next. If we emptied your blue bin last week, put your black bin out this week.
If you subscribe to garden waste collections, we also empty your green bin from March to November. Find out what goes in each bin.
When to put your bins out
- Put your bins out by 07:00 on your collection day.
- Leave them at the edge of your property, with the lids closed.
- Bring them back in by 20:00 on the same day.
We only collect waste that is inside your bin. We do not collect bags left next to it or on top of it.
Food waste collections start in January. From Monday 4 January 2027 we will collect food waste every week, on your usual collection day. We will deliver free caddies to every home in December.
If your bin was not collected
If your bin was out by 07:00 and we did not empty it, report a missed bin. Leave the bin out and we will come back to empty it within 2 working days.
Common questions
Do you collect bins on bank holidays?
Yes. We collect as normal on bank holidays, except over Christmas and New Year. We will publish the Christmas and New Year collection dates on this page in November.
I cannot move my bin because of a disability or illness
If nobody in your home can put your bin out, we can collect it from your property and return it afterwards. This is called an assisted collection and it is free. Call 01632 960 000 to ask for one.
My bin is damaged or missing
Report a damaged or missing bin and we will repair or replace it.
I have more rubbish than fits in my bin
Take extra waste to a recycling centre. For large items, book a bulky waste collection.
