How decisions are made

Planning officers decide most applications. Large or controversial applications, such as the Old Customs House, are decided by councillors at the Planning Committee. The committee meets in public in the Council Chamber at City Hall, and its meetings are webcast.

We aim to decide most applications within 8 weeks, and large applications within 13 weeks.

Speak at the Planning Committee

If you have commented on an application, you can ask to speak about it at the Planning Committee. Register by 12:00, 2 working days before the meeting, by emailing democracy@larkhaven.example. Each speaker has up to 3 minutes.

Next meeting: Planning Committee, Wednesday 9 December 2026 at 10:00.

Apply for planning permission

Before you apply, you can ask a planning officer for advice. Email planning@larkhaven.example with the address and a description of what you want to build.
