This event took place on Sunday 4 October 2026. Thank you to the runners, the volunteers and everyone who came out to cheer.

Around 4,000 runners will take on the Harbour Half Marathon on Sunday 4 October. The 13.1-mile route starts and finishes on Quay Square and takes in the waterfront, Harbour Bridge, the Old Town and Riverside Park, which reopens on Saturday 3 October after its £2.4 million restoration.

Watching the race

  • The race starts at 09:00. The fastest runners should finish at around 10:05, and the course closes at 13:00.
  • There are cheer zones with music on Quay Square and Harbour Street.
  • An accessible viewing area with seating is on the east side of Quay Square, near the finish.
  • Accessible toilets are in the new pavilion on Quay Square.

Road closures

Roads on the route will close in stages from 07:00 and reopen as soon as the last runners have passed. Quay Square and Quay Road will be closed from 06:00 to 14:00, and Harbour Bridge from 08:45 to 11:00. Trams will run as normal, but allow extra time for journeys by car or bus. Full details are on our roadworks and closures page.
