Line 3 opens to passengers on Saturday 21 November, and to celebrate, Larkhaven Transit is opening the doors of its Saltmarsh depot to everyone from 10:00 to 16:00. It’s free and there’s no need to book.
What to expect
- step inside the maintenance hall where the Line 3 trams are looked after
- try the driver training simulator (ages 8 and over)
- meet the engineers and drivers who built and tested the line
- see a tram up close and find out how the overhead power lines work
- family activities and food stalls
Line 3 opens to passengers the same morning, so why not arrive by tram? The depot is next to the Saltmarsh stop at the end of the line. Under-16s travel free at weekends, and a day ticket for all three lines costs £4.50.
Accessibility
The route around the depot is step-free and there are accessible toilets on site. Ear defenders are available at the entrance, and there’s a quiet room. Children must stay with an adult at all times.
Getting there
There’s very little parking at the depot, so please come by tram, bus, bike or on foot. Cycle parking is available at the entrance.
